The Art of Holding Space: Guided Meditations for the Emotions We Resist

For many of us, certain emotions were quietly—or sometimes very directly—deemed unacceptable. We were taught that feelings like anger, fear, or even deep sadness were weaknesses to be concealed or sinful urges to overcome. As young people, we learned to hold back, to hide away the parts of ourselves that didn’t fit the mold of what was “acceptable” or “faithful.”

But these emotions never really disappeared; they simply retreated into hidden spaces within us, waiting to be heard and understood. This workbook is an invitation to meet these feelings with the gentleness and compassion we were often denied. It’s a guide to rediscovering the emotions we learned to resist, not as burdens, but as integral parts of ourselves that deserve space and care.

For each meditation you’ll find a link to hear to me talk about the emotion more in depth, as well as a link to a guided meditation to help you explore your own experience of each emotion. You’ll also find questions for reflection and lined paper to journal. Lastly, you’ll find downloadable phone wallpapers that you can use to remind you of your intentions.

You will receive access to a printable PDF document (8.5 x 11 inches). No physical product will be mailed.
